Visit from the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus

On 27-30.03.2019, representatives of the Institute of Genetics and Cytology and the Experimental Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus visited our Institute. The representatives were correspondent member of Academy, prof. Ruslan Sheiko – Director, prof. Elena Guzenko – Deputy Director for Research and Implementations, and prof. Maryia Mikhailava – head of the Department of Animal Genetics, representing the Institute of Genetics and Cytology together with prof. Jury Lomako – Director of the Experimental Institute of Veterinary Medicine and dr Dzmitry Barysavets – head of the Department of Virology of this Institute. The group of scientists was accompanied by Maryia Pyzhova as an interpreter.

During the three-day stay, the guests familiarized themselves with the activities of our Institute concerning molecular genetics, biotechnology and animal breeding. They also attended planned seminar and visited leading laboratories of the Institute. During the seminar, scientists from Belarus presented scope of research of their institutes.

During the visit the Institute of Genetics and Animal Breeding of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Institute of Genetics and Cytology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus signed the framework cooperation agreement.
